Abstract : In the academic institution, analysis of students’ academic performance is important as an input in improving the
quality of students’ education. This can be done by analyzing students’ academic records stored in the database using
educational data mining. This study aims to explore factors that affect students’ performance in their professional courses
with prerequisites in a specific program. The prediction of students’ performance was made using classification techniques
in data mining. The study was able to identify performing and at-risk students in terms of their academic performance based
on the pattern extracted from the dataset. This research will serve as guidelines for the administrators and faculty members
for the improvement of their teaching methodologies.
