Abstract : This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the security issues that may arise when adopting big data
architectures with special emphasis on major risks in data repositories, usage of data processing algorithms, and security of
access rights to data. This paper looks into prevalent security concerns in organizations including; hacking, privacy violation,
break-ins, and other threats posed by insiders. This review also discusses the issues related to protection of distributed
environments, taking into account the increase in the amount and different types of information in current design solutions.
Also provides ways on how security can be improved, particularly encryption, advancement means of authentication and
monitoring requisite tools in real time. Objective is to provide much needed data consistency and security in enormous big
data situations while still keeping costs reasonable.
