Paper Title
Impulse Noise Removal from Medical Images using Vector Median Filter Output

Abstract
Abstract - A new switching filter is presented to remove fixed-valued impulse noise from color medical images. The proposed method detects impulse noise corrupted pixels and replaces the detected pixel. A combination of component-wise and rank-ordered methods is used to detect corrupted pixels. If a pixel is found noisy, it is replaced by vector median filter output, otherwise it is left unchanged. The obtained simulation results show that the proposed filter performs better than other filters in removing and retaining image details. Keywords - Impulse noise, Color image, Fixed-valued, Vector median filter, Dermoscopy images.
