Abstract : Abstract—Mobile devices play a key role in the communication. Usage of touch-screen based mobile devices for the autistic people preferring touch-based interaction with the machine, which would make them comfortable in expressing their views through their natural handwritten language on touch screen. In this paper, focus is to design a personalized character recognition system for autistic people. This system acceptably possessing a solution and will let the autistic people write in a natural, normal fashion using a suitable pen like device or with their own fingers and the recognition is done at the character level using nearest neighbor matching (Elastic matching algorithm). After completion of writing a character or word or sentence on Interactive Writer System (IWS), voice output will be generated. Before using character recognition, the application needs to be trained to recognize user character style.
