Abstract : The integration of sensors and actuators within Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks (WSANs) plays a pivotal
role in advancing mobile computing paradigms. However, challenges persist in optimising data transmission and routing
protocols within these networks, hindering their full potential in various application domains. This research focuses on
enhancing the Energy-Efficiency Layered Routing Scheme (ELRS) by introducing novel methodologies, specifically
adaptive hop count thresholds and a back pressure mechanism. The primary objective is to improve routing efficiency,
energy conservation, and data reliability within WSANs. By addressing these challenges, this study aims to contribute
significant advancements in mobile computing, offering insights crucial for diverse sectors reliant on WSAN technologies.
